Things Just Got a Little Spicier!
By Steve Cave
I’m sure that over the next several weeks, we’ll all hear a lot about Joe Biden, and his past. There’s a lot of it to criticize – he’s been a senator for six terms. That’s 36 years, all told. Does that sound like a sparkling beacon of change to you? Plus, Biden seems to like to say stuff. Crazy stuff. Stuff that’s fun to quote on anti-Obama commercials.
In some ways, I totally think that Biden could be a great running mate for Obama. The guy knows politics, he’s got some great foreign politics experience, and he might pull in some well-meaning conservative voters who are afraid that Obama is going to go a little too far with his ideas of change.
But for the most part, I think that Obama might have made a terrible, terrible mistake. If people were looking to Obama because they felt that McCain was too much of a loose cannon, then that just got balanced out! Are you afraid of what McCain will do in the Middle East? Well, take a look at what foreign policy expert Joe Biden thinks : he voted for the war, and defended his stance. He likes to throw money at problems overseas. He apparently is sick of Indian Americans working at 7-Eleven. He’s insane.
Personally, I can’t wait to see how this all pans out. Either Obama sees something in Joe Biden that we haven’t yet, and he’ll turn out to be the hidden dragon that the Democrats need … or, Obama just sank his own battleship. Either way, these next few weeks just got a little spicier!
